Publishing Ethics for Authors
Every author must know and adhere to all publishing ethics in the production of scientific texts that have been defined in a very principled way in every journal, and in the case of any disobedience to the rules by authors will reserve the right for any publication to take national and international legal action.
Submitting an article by the author means he/she knows these rights and rules. The author and those active in the journal publication (editor-in-chief, editorial board, editor, and publisher) must have accepted and agreed to the ethical rules and regulations of the journal. The COPE Code of Conduct for Journal Editors is designed to provide a set of minimum standards to which all COPE members are expected to adhere. It guides the authors and other involving parties in the journal.
Here are some rules by COPE Code of Conduct for Journal Editors:
COPE Rules
Submitted articles must be on the specialized field of the journal and the research work of the author or authors.
In addition to the subject matter of the article to be on the specialized field of the journal, articles or any sections of them should not be on the process of peer-review in either national or international journals at the same time.
Papers whose abstracts are published in conferences, symposiums, national or international seminars can also be submitted and presented in full.
The journal is free to reject, accept, edit, summarize or modify received articles.
Modifying and summarizing the content is done by the authors and is the responsibility of the authors. The author is responsible for the correspondence and publishing the article does not imply endorsement.
The original papers will be removed from the archive of any journal after six months, and the journal will have no liability whatsoever.
If using other sources, they must be referenced with the full number and information of the applied source.
Submitted articles should not have been published in any other journal, so it is required for authors at the time of registration and submission to complete the author’s commitment form not to submit their papers to other journals for publication or review.
Publishing Decisions
The copyright laws are observed by the journal and the rights of individuals at the time of publication are protected.
Fair Decision on Articles
Decisions about articles will be made at any stage regardless of the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, or political philosophy.
Confidentiality of Information
The authors’ personal information is completely confidential and protected for anyone who has access to it, such as editor, editorial staff and editor-in-chief of the journal, and other active individuals (other than the author) such as reviewers, consultants, editors, and trustees.
Author Responsibility
Submission of scientific and standard papers: Authors should prepare articles in a coherent and scientific manner, in accordance with the standards of the journals. The methodology section of an article should be carefully and objectively prepared and the data should be reported correctly. Through the full citation, the rights of other individuals in the process of article writing are respected. Avoid expressing sensitive, immoral, personal, racial or religious topics and false and inaccurate information and translations of others’ works without referencing the article.
Provide raw data if needed: Ask the author to provide and provide raw data, interviews, questionnaires, and other research tools if needed. Public access to this information (consistent with the ALPSP-STM Statement) helps improve the performance of articles.
Originality of the submitted article: The articles submitted by the authors should be the work of the author of the article and any use of other people’s research should be cited and referenced in the article.
Avoiding to submit/publish an article in different journals at the same time: An author should never have the same paper be submitted in two different journals at the same time. This is an absolute rule that protects both the author and the journal, as the publisher, from duplication of effort, as well as avoiding situations like this.
Appropriate Referencing: Referencing is when you acknowledge other peoples’ work and allow the reader to locate the sources you have used. Referencing your sources also means you can avoid plagiarizing the work of others.
Referring to sponsors: Authors should introduce all sponsors for their paper.
Announcing essential errors in articles: the author should, at any time, notice any errors or inaccuracies in the article.
Copyright
When the article is accepted in the journal, the authors are asked to complete the publication form and submit it to the editor-in-chief. Text file of this agreement contains the copyright rules of the article. Accepting the terms of this agreement will contribute to the proper dissemination of information.
