Lutfihak Alpkan is a Professor of Management Engineering at Istanbul Technical University in Turkey. He graduated from Marmara University in 1993, earned his MS degrees both from Boğaziçi University 1996, and from Gebze Institute of Technology in 1997, and finally his Ph.D. degree from again Gebze Institute of Technology in Management in 2000. He served as the head of the Social Sciences Institute (2006-2014) and also as the head of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management Department (2008-2014) in Gebze Institute of Technology. He joined Istanbul Technical University at the end of 2014. As for the 2016-2017 period, he also served as the vice dean of the Faculty of Management.

His current research interests include Strategic Management, Innovation Management, Entrepreneurship, and Business Ethics. His research papers have appeared in various journals including International Journal of Organizational Leadership, Journal of Global Strategic Management, Journal of Business Research, International Small Business Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, Management Decision, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Business Economics and Management, and Journal of Engineering Technology and Management.

He is actually the vice president of the International Strategic Management and Managers Association, Chairman of the International Strategic Management Conference, Co-chair of the International Conference on Leadership, Technology, Innovation, and Business Management, Co-editor of the Journal of Global Strategic Management. He speaks Turkish, English and French.
