Selcuk Karayel
I am a visiting professor at the University of South Carolina, Darla Moore School of Business. In addition, I am also working as an Assist. Prof. Dr. at Necmettin Erbakan University in Turkey, Faculty of Social and Human Sciences.
I have been working for the private sector as a foreign trade consultant for many companies in Turkey for 15 years. I am an expert on letter of credits, import and export regulations. I have experienced in the automotive sector, the chemical sector, marble and travertine sector, fertilizer sector and wool sector in both export and import. I have got a good connection with also fresh fruit and vegetable sector in Turkey. Nowadays I am representing one Turkish company in the US.
I had been teaching foreign trade applications in Turkey for 15 years. I have publishes 2 international business books.
I graduated from “Middle East Technical University”, Department of Statistics in 1995. After graduation, I had worked in a bank as a specialist for 5 five years. Then, I started to work as a lecturer at Selcuk University in 2001. In my studies, my special focus was on foreign trade, banking, and statistics. I got my MBA degree in business management in 2005 at Selcuk University. Subsequently, I got my Ph.D. degree in 2010 in the same field. My doctorate thesis is titled “The Relationship between the Clustering as an Innovative Organization Model and the Business Performance: The Practice of Shoe Sector”.
Since 2001, I have coordinated some EU projects. Currently, I am the coordinator of the Innovation Transfer Project (the budget is 314.000 €) for one year. The subject of the project is the same as my doctoral thesis
