I’m Associate Professor Doctor Yusuf Tansel İç. I am the Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering at Başkent University, Institute of Science and Technology. Our Industrial Engineering Master Program with Thesis is basically a program that enables students who want to pursue a master’s degree after Industrial Engineering Undergraduate Education. Mainly accepting students from Industrial Engineering undergraduate programs, provided that the Scientific Preparation Condition; It is a program that accepts students from other engineering sciences, Business and Economics departments of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, and Mathematics and Statistics Departments of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Our Industrial Engineering Master Program with Thesis enables students who wish to pursue a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, to contribute to our country’s need to train qualified personnel. For this purpose, we train engineers who have a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering. Of course, these master engineers have achieved a prerequisite for a Ph.D. in this field at the same time. We program the courses within the scope of our Industrial Engineering Master Program with two main branches. One of them is the department that we will call the Operations Research Department. The other is the basic field of Industrial Engineering. In the Department of Operations Research, studies are carried out in relation to the design and improvement of systems in order to carry out more operational operations more efficiently and related courses are included in the program. In the field of Industrial Engineering, for more efficient management and design of more systems, factories, and many subsystems in the service sector; quality, productivity, occupational health, and ergonomics. Depending on the two main disciplines I have just mentioned, our academic staff is shaped. We mainly have a training staff specialized in the field of Operations Research. In addition, our faculty members who have been working in the field of Industrial Engineering and whose career has developed in this field also teach in our program. During the graduate education at Baskent University, we have laboratories both in the scope of the course and the projects and studies related to the master thesis which is one of the main factors of the master’s program. One of them is the Production Systems Laboratory that we are currently in. In this laboratory, our students can make studies on how advanced technologies can be applied and developed in production systems. In conjunction with the Department of Industrial Engineering, Machine Tools Laboratory, Work-Study and Laboratories and Simulation, and Optimization Laboratory also serve our students. In the Department of Industrial Engineering, the Master of Science Program in Industrial Engineering is carried out. As with all national programs, this program is shaped under certain conditions. One of these conditions is a course condition. Students are required to successfully complete at least 7 courses. Then a Seminar Course is given. Upon successful completion of this course, students can graduate from the program as a result of preparing and completing a thesis. As one of the most important advantages of our Industrial Engineering Master Program with Thesis is that it can serve all areas, I would like to invite the candidates who want to have an academic career and want to improve the systems in their fields of study. Another advantage is that our classes take place outside working hours. In the Industrial Engineering Master Program with Thesis, courses begin after 18:00. This is an important opportunity for engineers working in the sector to get their master’s degree. By evaluating this program, it can be regarded as an important opportunity for both developing their own careers and solving problems in the systems they serve and contributing to the improvement of the sectors. Our Industrial Engineering Master Program with Thesis is open to all national and international students. Admission requirements for international students are the same as those for national students. It is compulsory to submit a language certificate only for the students coming from abroad. Students must have obtained this certificate. Our Industrial Engineering Department, which has been continuing its educational activities since 1998, also offers a highly qualified and high-level education program. Master’s thesis made especially in the scope of cooperation with industry has made significant contributions both for the academic career and development of companies in the sector.
