Aron is Professor – Department of Marketing and  at Macquarie University, Sydney, Austrialia. Previously Aron was at the University of Tasmania. Before joining the University of Tasmania Aron was Professor and Chair of Marketing at the University of Newcastle (2003-2011). Before this he had held positions as Senior Lecturer in Marketing at Griffith University (1998-2002) and Lecturer in Marketing at the University of New England (1995-1998).

Before joining academia, Aron was a senior marketing manager for a major Australian technology based corporation. He has a high level of industry experience and has also consulted extensively with commercial and not-for-profit organizations and political parties in Australia. His industry experience has provided a deeper understanding of industry and government needs in relation to the roles research and universities play in commerce and business. He continues to engage in active consultancy with industry.

Aron is Professor and Chair of Marketing in the Tasmanian School of Business & Economics, a position he has held since 2011. Aron’s work has established him as a leading researcher in the area of marketing strategy, innovation, branding, consumer behaviour and services marketing. His research efforts have resulted in a total of 205 publications including: 100 refereed journal articles (all in international journals), 105 refereed conference papers and text books.

TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES

Since commencing teaching in 1996 he has taught in a wide range of marketing subjects at the undergraduate, honours and postgraduate level. His primary teaching has focused on consumer behaviour, branding, marketing communications, marketing management. The following list provides an overview of his primary teaching areas.
